On May 7, 2014, Kye Matthew Boudreaux was killed on a fishing trip. Kye brought his friend Detrell Scott along with him to his family’s camp by the river, where Detrell shot him in the head with his own gun. Kye’s boat was discovered abandoned in the water and his truck was found in a field where Detrell had tried to light it on fire. After the killing, Detrell sent a text message to another friend saying “I knocked my white boy off last night.”<\/p>\n
