On March 25, 2020, Martha McKay was killed by an old friend. Travis Lewis had fatally shot Martha’s mother and cousin 23 years earlier, but Martha “forgave” the teenager and started writing to him in prison. When Travis was released, Martha hired him to work at the same house in which the previous killings had occurred. Some months later, Martha was forced to fire Travis for stealing from her, so he stabbed her to death.
