On August 16, 2013, Christopher Ryan Lane was jogging in his girlfriend’s neighborhood when he was shot in the back. Chancey Luna, a 16-year-old looking for fun, fired his handgun from a car as it passed Christopher. His 15-year-old friend James Edwards was also in the car; he testified against Chancey and the driver, for which he was rewarded with a release from prison in 2018. Chancey and the driver are serving life sentences for the murder of 22-year-old Christopher.
