On March 28, 2014, Shannon Dawn Kleeman was house-sitting for a relative. After finding out that Shannon was in the home alone, a next-door neighbor named Morice Ervin broke in, raped the 21-year-old, and shot her in the head with a shotgun. Shannon’s sister and another neighbor found the body; the neighbor said Morice “mutilated this child. What I saw, I will never forget, and it will take me months or years to be able to get that image out of my mind.”
