This is the first picture of a road sweeper who murdered his fiancee with a crowbar in a jealousy-fuelled rage before leaving her body in his flat while he went to work.
Mark Brandford killed Kayleigh Dunning by repeatedly striking her in the head with a weapon “at least 10 times” and stabbing her, before leaving her dead in a blood-soaked bedroom in Portsmouth.
The 49-year-old had proposed to the 32-year-old Kayleigh on the night of December 16, 2019, which she accepted, and the couple had been spending the night together in the aftermath.
During the course of the night, Brandford carried out a “brutal and ferocious” attack on Kayleigh in a jealousy-fuelled rage after she referred to him by a nickname used for another man she was having sexual relations with at the time.
