On July 26, 2016, Lyric Bryce Work was employed in the leasing office of an apartment complex when she was shot by one of the renters. Her shooter, Jacqueline Tyson, also killed one of Lyric’s coworkers that day. But since the 20-year-old Lyric was over 7 months pregnant, her body was kept on life support long enough for her daughter Marley to be delivered by caesarean section.
