On July 27, 2017, Amanda Leigh Carney was stabbed to death. Deltra Henderson was an inmate at the prison where Amanda’s stepfather was an assistant warden. Because of “good behavior,” Deltra was granted certain privileges, which made it possible for him to walk away unnoticed for a time. He soon found Amanda’s house and kidnapped the 18-year-old; her body was found in some nearby woods.
