On August 10, 2002, Sandra Kay Clark Hobbs was found in her home, strangled to death. She had been severely beaten and almost decapitated with a shoestring. DNA evidence tied the 39-year-old mother’s death to William Gholston, but he was acquitted due to an irregularity with a key witness.

12 years later, William was convicted of a similar murder against a 15-year-old girl.
